S10 vs S11 CPAP Tubing: What's the Difference?
S10 and S11 CPAP tubing look similar but use different connectors. Here's what sets them apart and how to make sure you order the right one.
CPAP tubing may seem like a universal product, but when it comes to heated tubes for ResMed machines, the generation of your device makes all the difference. S10 and S11 tubing are designed for different machine connector ports and cannot be swapped between devices.
What Does S10 and S11 Mean?
S10 refers to the AirSense 10 and AirCurve 10 series of machines. S11 refers to the newer AirSense 11 and AirCurve 11 series. These designations appear in the tube product naming specifically because the connectors differ between the two generations.
The Physical Connector Difference
The approved heated tube connections differ between the S10 and S11 series. Match the tube to your machine's full model name. Visual similarity is not proof of compatibility, and a connector that does not fit should never be forced.
Heated vs. Standard Tubing
Standard tubing has no heating element. A standard 22mm connection does not make a heated tube universal: the heated connection still has to match the machine series. Follow your device guide when selecting a tube and any required tubing setting. Heated tubing can help manage condensation, but the right choice depends on your equipment and comfort needs.
How to Order the Right Tube
Check your machine model number before ordering. If you have an AirSense 10 or AirCurve 10, order an S10-compatible tube. If you have an AirSense 11 or AirCurve 11, order an S11-compatible tube. LullaPad's product listings clearly state which machines each tube is designed for, so you won't accidentally order the wrong one.
